A doctor's farewell

Everyone should read this piece published in the 22nd January 2005 issue of The Spectator (http://www.spectator.co.uk/article_archive.php?id=5569&issue=2005-01-22).

The author, Theodore Dalrymple, "...is happy to report that he retired from the NHS last week — and escaped the intellectual and moral corruption of modern hospitals...".

This eloquent essay summarises the devastation reaked by politicians, their managerial henchmen working in the NHS "...as they secure the advancement of their own inglorious careers...", and not least those doctors who have been "...bought off with promises of extra cash, dispensed by managers...".

You MUST read it! Sadly, it is all so true.
